Brendan Tagney R.I.P.

Dear Members and Friends,

We are sad to report the death last week of a great Souths and Queensland Gael, Brendan Tangney. Originally from Lahard Beaufort, Co Kerry, he came to Australia over 40 years ago and after moving around he finally settled in Beenleigh where he ran a successful real estate business. Brendan moved to Townsville in the past few years to be close to his family and grandchildren who were with him when he sadly passed.

Many of you will see Brendan's name mentioned on the website in the history section. He was one of the original founding members of the club. Tagney, as he was known to many, played in and managed numerous Souths teams over the years. He was real character and loved the craic, a Souths man to the core!

Brendan will be fondly remembered by many both here in Australia and in Ireland.

Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
